Children Youth and Families Network (CYFN)
Introduction
The Children Youth and Families Network (CYFN) is facilitated by Hillingdon Association of Voluntary Services. The work of the forum is supported and taken forward by the Children, Youth and Families Officer. The CYFF exists for the voluntary sector as a whole and its decisions and actions are owned collectively by all members.
Who can be part of it?
The network is informal. Any paid member of staff or trustee of a voluntary organisation delivering services in the London Borough of Hillingdon, or to Hillingdon residents can be part of the network. Any voluntary sector member representing the sector at a joint planning group would be expected to participate in feeding back relevant information. The network is inclusive of the whole voluntary sector community.
To be part of CYFN, it is only necessary for individuals to request that their name be added to the e circulation list by contacting Fiona Millar, Children, Youth and Families Officer on fmillar@havs.org.uk or 01895 442929.
Aims of the Network
To give an opportunity to all voluntary and community organisations working with children, young people and families to participate in planning, policy and development of services to children, young people and families in the Borough of Hillingdon, by participating in either network meetings, e circulation information or both.
To provide an opportunity for voluntary sector representatives on local joint planning, policy and service development groups to exchange and feedback information and discuss issues affecting all groups, either via e circulation or at a network meeting as appropriate. Where the network raise concerns on any planning issue, these should be fed back to the relevant joint planning group.
To provide a vehicle for voluntary and community organisations to agree joint responses, where appropriate, to local initiatives, and to take forward any joint initiatives arising from the network.
To share any other information, ideas and good practice.
To raise awareness both within the voluntary sector and statutory sector of the key role of the voluntary sector in implementing the children, youth and families agenda.
Objectives of the Network
The CYFN will:-
Meet a minimum of 4 times a year to consider local children, youth and families issues. Between meetings, to make use of e circulation and www.hillingdonconnected.org.uk to share information appropriately.
